City of Heyburn Council Meeting Wednesday, March 27th 2024 7:00 P.M.
Officer Dalton of the Heyburn Police Department was awarded his POST Basic Patrol Certificate.
The Council heard its second reading of Ordinance No. 2024-685. Updating requirements, permits and fees pertaining to Telecommunication Towers in the City of Heyburn. This Ordinance also deals with the re naming and numbering of Nevada and Oregon Ave’s to Nevada and Oregon Street’s.
The Council heard the first reading of Ordinance No, 2024-687. This Ordinance approves the Urban Renewal District Plan for the INH-Heyburn District. There will be a Public Hearing on this ordnance April 10th at 7 PM.
The Council approved an Improvement Agreement with the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. A purchase agreement was previously approved, buying a larger easement from the Church located at the corner of 300 S and 500 W. The agreement is, in lieu of financial compensation, the City will hook that Church building up to City utilities at the time the City expands utilities to that area.
The Council approved a Business License for BinMaster Logistics LLC, a roll off Garbage Bin Rental Company. Find them on Facebook BinMaster Logistics, LLC.
The Council approved Mayor Dick Galbraith proclaiming the month of April as Fair Housing Month.
The Council was updated on the All Hazards Mitigation plan. This is a plan recognizing and working to mitigate potential hazards to our community. This plan is necessary to qualify for state and federal funding.
The Council approved Mayor Dick Galbraith’s recommendation to appoint Rose Schmidt to the Planning and Zoning commission.
